Well it’s that time of year again where the air is getting cooler and the days are getting shorter, but not here. October at Innovative Autoworks means longer days and turning the heat up to get our SEMA projects done on time and ready to ship off to Vegas.
This year we are building a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Dually for the American Force Wheels booth. So as usual we started to get a game plan together and after several days we came up with a general idea of what we wanted: Big and Blue. So we contacted our friends down at Keg Media to take our thoughts and put them on paper. This is what they came up with:
With the rendering in our hands we had our blueprints to follow, we immediately contacted BDS for the 7″ lift, PPG to make shine,American Force for the six 24” wheels, Toyo Tires supplied us with the 37” rubber, MBRP exhaust for a stainless 4” exhaust and AMP research for steps so we can get into this beast. Stay tuned for the build progress!!
With spring on it’s way, I figured it to be a good time to show off our ’68 Cutlass Convertible project. The car came to us in need of a massive amount of work, it had no floor, no interior, the drive train wasn’t in running order, and the body had numerous dents, dings, etc. The upside to this was that it did have a brand new custom frame with Corvette C6 front suspension so we had a great place to start. Here are a few pictures of what we had to start with:
So after talking with the owner to go over their expectations of the build and what they wanted to do we came up with the following:
As you can see we are completely re-building the car, top to bottom, inside and out. Here is a quick run down of what we have planned:
- Modify the front grill assembly and hood for a sleeker look
- Re-paint the body PPG Midnight Saphire blue
- Put 28” Forgiato wheels on and keep the car as low as possible
- Completely custom interior with a Corvette C6 Dashboard
- 6500 Watt Kicker audio system with 5 sets of Kicker QS speakers actively crossed over and 4 12”L7 subwoofers in the trunk.
- Stroked 418 ci LS3 with approx. 620hp mated to a 6speed auto
- Four wheel 14” big brake kit from Wilwood
Over the duration of the project, I will make sure to keep posting pictures and keeping everyone filled on the progress wether it be via blog, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram so be sure to follow us. We are looking forward to building this and hope to unveil the finished product soon!
Well its that time of year again and we are hard at work building another vehicle for the SEMA show.
We are building a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for the American Force Wheels booth (booth #47053).
First, to get an idea of how we wanted it to turn out, we contacted Keg Media to put our ideas to paper. They came back with this:
So needless to say they set the bar pretty high, but we are up to the task of building it.
To help us achieve the look we are going for we contacted Smittybilt for their awesome XRC bumpers,XRCfenders,SRC rock guards and X20 winch. To get the Jeep up in the air BDS Suspensions gave us their 6.5” Long arm lift to help clear the massive 40in tires on the American Force 20” wheels. To finish it off we will be painting it satin grey courtesy of PPG paints.
Stay posted for progress and the finished product!
Well its the second week of November, and SEMA has already come and gone. Luckily for us we didn’t let it get by without making our mark on it. Below you will find our documented 2011 SEMA Build, a 1965 Chevy C-10 built to modern specs and maybe a little further. Everything you see below was accomplished in less than 40 days and we used every last minute of them. Without the help of our sponsors this feat may not have been possible.
With that said,we would like to extend a big THANKYOU to our main sponsor Forgiato wheels for giving us the opportunity to build this vehicle and display it in their booth. Another big shout out to Midwest Custom Paint in Cincinnati,OH for making the body look perfect and getting the frame on the ground. Also we would like to thank our sponsors listed below for their products and hours of phone support:
- Wilwood Disk Brakes
- DuPont Paint
- AccuAir Suspension
- Mast Motorsports
- Kicker Car Audio
Now for the pictures!
